Air NORTH is the second oldest continually run aviation enthusiast's society in the UK, having been formed by aviation professionals at Newcastle Airport in 1960. 61 years later Air NORTH remains a volunteer run society, and continues to produce a monthly journal aimed at the enthusiast, covering aviation in the North of England and beyond, a magazine generally regarded as one of the best of its kind.

Air NORTH prides itself particularly on its unparalleled archive and history of its home airport, Newcastle International, over the last 60 years and beyond - the 'core' of the monthly magazine consists of totally comprehensive coverage of the previous month at the region's largest airport.

Aviation, in all its forms, is also covered throughout the North East and North West, while a major part of each issue is devoted to original writing by our contributors, on a huge range of aviation subjects. It remains an overriding aim of the Air NORTH committee to produce a tangible article which the reader can sit down with, offering an excellent read.

Air NORTH is thought to have been the first aviation enthusiast's society of its kind to have had a Web presence, when the Internet was in its infancy, and this fine heritage is now continued in this, the society's revamped Website.
